Grand Junction Rec Center Memberships: What to Know Now
One of the first questions I asked the audience when I arrived at the radio station was, what is something Grand Junction needs more of? Back in 2021, the answer was: a rec center for kids and families.
The people came together on April 4, 2023, and voted yes in support of Grand Junction's Community Rec Center. In 2026, we are approaching opening day this fall. In fact, memberships will be available for purchase soon. Here is how to get one.

Memberships to Grand Junction’s Community Rec Center will officially go on sale June 8, 2026, months ahead of the anticipated late-2026 opening. This will give locals a chance to secure access before the doors even open. The community is excited to support the facility, and early demand is expected to increase as details roll out, such as how and where to purchase your membership.
Grand Junction Rec Center Membership Prices and Options
Pricing for the membership is community-friendly for a brand-new facility, with adult memberships around $42 per month for residents, $30 for seniors, and $26 for youth. Save with a family plan that includes up to four people for about $76 per month. Guests will also find day passes and punch cards once the rec center opens, so if you need a plan with some flexibility, they’ll have options for you to choose from.

The Grand Junction community rec center is going to be a lot more than a typical gym. It will feature multiple pools, a climbing wall, indoor courts, and a full fitness center. The schedule isn’t finalized yet, but planned hours appear to include early mornings through evenings on weekdays, with shorter hours on the weekend. We can't wait to announce their opening day later this year.
