The Daily Sentinel has the complete story, but in a nutshell, don't bother bringing your sleeping bags to that area. Officials are stating that this policy has been put into place for several reasons including to protect resources and for safety concerns. Plus, there have been many issues with campers overstaying their welcome, including one person living in a bus on the property for several weeks.

Other complaints have come from surrounding property owners. Loud and careless campers, trespassing, littering and causing damage to private property are issues as well. Even going as far as incidents with assaults and weapons.

The city said that simply maintaining the grounds was almost impossible. Trash would overflow within a couple of days.
