Say Goodbye to These Downtown Grand Junction Art Pieces
Before you know it, new art pieces will adorn the walkways of downtown Grand Junction. That means some of the existing works will be going bye-bye.
New sculptures and artworks will be in place on October 2, 2021. That doesn't leave much time to take one more look at these awesome selections currently on display.
Awesome Art on the Corner in Downtown Grand Junction
Many Grand Valley residents enjoy visiting the awesome works on display along Main Street and the surrounding downtown areas. The creations on display are magnificent, to say the least. A friend of mine from Colorado Springs joined me for one of this season's last Markets on Main and commented how much she prefers our downtown area compared to the Springs.
Word On the Street
Downtown Grand Junction posted this earlier today (Friday, September 24) on Facebook:
New Art on the Corner pieces coming soon! Check out the current collection before pieces are switched out during the Downtown Art Festival presented by Alpine Bank on Saturday, October 2!
Before Anyone Panics
Some pieces on display in downtown Grand Junction are permanent. Don't worry, Dalton Trumbo and his bathtub aren't going anywhere.
Grand Junction's 6th Annual Downtown Art Festival
The 6th Annual Downtown Art Festival celebrates the Downtown Grand Junction Creative District.
The Festival gets underway on Friday, October 1. Visit the downtown galleries, shops, and select restaurants during "First Friday."
Things continue on Saturday, October 2, with the Artist Expo at the 4th and Colorado Avenue parking lot. That event will run from 11 am to 5 pm.
Then, to close out out the Downtown Art Festival weekend, check out the Grand Junction Film Festival on Sunday, October 3.
A Little Bit Overdue
Thanks to COVID-19, the works currently on display enjoyed an extended run. These pieces from the 2019-2021 Art on the Corner exhibit were left on display for an additional year.
Please check out the gallery below. You'll find the name of the work and the name of the artist behind them. Please keep in mind these pieces are available for purchase.
