Mesa County Valley School District 51 is celebrating some great things. They have recorded their lowest dropout rate of the 21st century and an increase in their four-year graduation rate, according to District 51.

The Colorado Department of Education recently released some data showing that Mesa County Valley School District 51 had the lowest dropout rate in 2019-2020. The dropout rate was 1.7%, making it the lowest dropout rate since 2000.

Colorado's dropout rate decreased from 2018-2019 to 2019-2020, so did District 51's dropout rate. Another great thing for District 51 to celebrate is their dropout rate is below the state average of 1.8%.

District 51 having the lowest dropout rate in 20 years isn't the only they're celebrating. Mesa County Valley School District 51 is also celebrating an increase in graduation rates as well.

According to District 51, their four-year graduation rate grew from 79.6% in 2019 to 80.2% in 2020. It's great to see that both the graduation rate increasing and the dropout rate decreasing at Mesa County Valley School District 51.

It's especially impressive that District 51's graduation rate increased and their dropout rate decreased in 2020 because of all the challenges students faced in 2020 with COVID-19 and remote learning. District 51 students overcame the challenges that came with 2020 and all of Mesa County couldn't be more proud.
