Construction has come to a halt at Highlands Ranch as they were using the heavy equipment they uncovered dinosaur bones. According to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, they have uncovered a limb bone and rib bones all from a horned dinosaur.

Officials are securing the site and are searching for more bones beneath the dirt. The dinosaur bones were found at a construction site near Wind Crest at Santa Fe Drive and C-470.

The construction company will work closely with the Denver Museum of Nature and will continue construction work. Officials also remind you that the site is not open to the Public.

It makes you wonder if just digging a few feet in your own back yard would unearth anything. I love exploring and of course, Fruita is a great place to go with the family.

You can check out the Dinosaur Journey Museum in Fruita. You could actually join a professionally conducted dinosaur expedition.
