Body of Mary Finnegan Found Late Tuesday
With a very heavy heart, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office has announced the discovery of the body of Mary Finnegan, the woman who went missing from Montrose on July 15.
Mesa County authorities received word of the discovery Tuesday evening. According to the MCSO, her body was located in the Uncompahgre National Forest, a little over a mile from the search team's initial command post, and about three miles from where her car was found.
Ranchers not associated with the search effort noticed something after going down a four-wheel-drive road while looking for items believed to have fallen off their truck. They contacted members of Finnegan's family who was camped nearby.
It's with a heavy heart we share the news that Mary Finnegan's body has been found. She went missing July 15th from a Montrose bowling alley. We thank everyone who has helped in the search for her. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. - Mesa County Sheriff's Office via Facebook
