When should you be concerned that your child is not developing properly? And where to go when you have concerns!

As a new parent I wonder all the time if my child is developmentally pacing where he should be. I think all of us want/hope for our child to be exceptional, but REALLY just want them to be normal, whatever that is.

So what is normal?

Before we touch on this topic let me preface it with the fact that every child develops differently and to talk with Child Find if you have any concerns!

Child Find's questionnaire is a free service that provides a way to determine if your child is developmentally pacing where they should be - birth through twenty one.

Here's what our local experts Sondra with Child Find & Jillian with the Mesa County Health Department had to say:

Who to contact if you have concerns:

  1. Birth to 3 contact Strive 979-241-5403
  2. 3 to 5 contact Hawthorn Building 970-254-5405
  3. 5 to 21 contact the school that serves your address

"Got Kids," in con-junction with the Partnership for Children & Families, is a NEW feature at 9:40 every Friday that covers early childhood growth and development, along with a variety of services, products and resources that serve Western Colorado. Find them on Facebook and be sure to check out their Online 'Got Kids' Road Map.
