You’ll Never Guess What Band Inspired a Colorado Airport Restaurant
Being at DIA in Colorado for a flight can be a mixed bag: On one hand, you might be excited to get out of town on vacation; on the other, traveling is a huge hassle.
One of DIA's many restaurants has landed in the top 10 of all airport restaurants/bars across the nation. You may not have ever heard of it, but you may have heard of the band that inspired the spot's proprietors.
Denver International Airport (DIA) has dozens of places to get a bite to eat, and a beer/cocktail. People who have to fly from place to place often will tell you that DIA is one of the best airports around, and now it can boast a 'Top 10 in America' restaurant.

Maybe you have a favorite place to hit up when you get to DIA: Maybe the Blue Sky Bar (I do like that place); maybe it's Heidi's Brooklyn Deli, or Wolfgang Puck (I'm going to be honest, I didn't know there was a Wolfgang Puck at DIA.)
Most times, where you're going to "plop down" for a while depends on where you are at the airport. You could just be in the terminal, waiting to pick someone up, or you could be at one of A, B, or C gates, looking for some good food and "a beer."
DIA RESTAURANT RATED AS ONE OF THE 10 BEST AIRPORT RESTAURANTS
According to KDVR, USA Today did a poll asking readers what the best grab-and-go restaurants are at America's airports, and one restaurant, in the C gates area, came in at #8 on that list.
WHAT RESTAURANT DID USA TODAY SAY IS IN THE TOP 10 IN AMERICA?
It's Root Down. With all the fancy restaurants that DIA has, USA Today readers chose Root Down as one of the best, not only DIA but across the entire U.S.
WHAT BAND DOES ROOT DOWN AT DIA MENTION AS INSPIRATION?
According to their website, though Root Down (And Get It) was a tune originally performed by Jimmy Smith, the Beastie Boys cover of the song also inspired them.
