Here's a criminal who gets the award for bad luck. He breaks into a parked car and steps out with nothing more than two cans of gasoline.

It's unclear what this dumb criminal was looking for, but rather than walk away empty handed, he risked arrest and jail time for a few dollars of fuel.

It's possible this guy was really desperate for gas or the more likely explanation, this is a bungled attempt at stealing something of real value.

According to Crime Stoppers of Mesa County, the theft happened on May 31 at about 7:30 p.m. from a car parked at the Grand Junction Sam's Club.

Security cameras show the suspect is a white male between 30 and 50 years old, 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 150 to 200 pounds. At the time of the theft, the man was wearing a green t-shirt and jeans.

If your information leads to an arrest, you can earn a reward of up to $1,000 which is worth a heck of a lot more than the stolen gas, not to mention it would be obtained legally.
