As the sun set over Grand Junction Wednesday night, one of the biggest parties in country music, that is Country Jam, was just getting started and we were there to check it out. The stages were set, the beer was cold and the weather was smokin' hot; all of the makings for the beginning of a perfect summer-time celebration.

All day long we watched as streams of campers headed into town from all over on I-70, and the campgrounds were beginning to come alive as the first concert kicked off. After the opening announcement, Utah native Charley Jenkins was officially the first artist to play Country Jam 2013, and play he did! Jenkins got the crowd going, and with the aid of a little alcohol, the party that will go on for the next 3 days began. Anyone want to take bets on how many babies will be made over the next few days? Rumor has it that number is pretty high! Next up on stage was McKenzies Mill who also put on quite the show and kept everyone dancing late into the evening. A great start to what we are sure will only get better as the weekend approaches and big country acts take the main stage.

Here's a look into Thursday night's kick-off event through the eyes of our cameras if you couldn't make it out. Watch for us on the grounds throughout the next few days and make sure to stop by our tent near the West VIP Gate and say hello; we've got some cool stuff waiting just for you including free bottled water.

If you're missing out on actually being at Country Jam don't worry, we've got you covered! Throughout the event make sure to watch our facebook and Twitter pages for the latest on Country Jam including what's going on behind the scenes. If you haven't liked or followed our pages yet, show us some love; there's no better time than now!
