Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is one of the best things I've done for my son since he was born! This weekend they're celebrating 25,000th book distribution in the Grand Junction area with a puppet show and more!

If you've never heard of this program let me give you a little background:

  • Back in 96' Dolly Parton launched her Imagination Library to benefit children in her home county in East Tennessee, hoping to foster a love of reading by mailing an age appropriate books directly to their home each month, insuring that every kid has access to books, regardless of their family’s income until they are 5 or move from a qualifying zip code. Children in zip codes 81501, 81503, 81504, 81505, 81506, and 81507 are eligible for this FREE amazing program!

Parents grab your children under 5 and head down to the Mesa County Central Library at 10a this Saturday at 655 N 1st St here in Grand Junction for a puppet show of “The Valentine Bears.” to celebrate this exciting milestone!

Tricia Widdows Schuster, co-founder said, “We thank the community for supporting this worthwhile program and look forward to continuing to find partners to make this program possible.”
