Subaru is recalling more than 52,000 Legacys and Outbacks. Do you own one?

If you own one of these do NOT drive it. The steering may fail.

The recall involves 2016 Legacys and Outbacks built from February 29 to May 6, 2016. Plus, 2017 Legacys and Outbacks built from April 18 to April 29, 2016.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released more details on this announcement Friday. The steering columns may have been made incorrectly and may not work properly, therefore you could lose the ability to steer the vehicle while driving.

Again, do not drive these vehicles. Contact your Subaru dealer. They will send someone out to inspect your vehicle. Replacing these parts will begin in a few days. The company also states that it will provide loaner cars while the changes are being made.
