Grand Junction was home to the Starlite, Chief, and Rocket Drive-Ins, while the city of Delta had the Skylite (later renamed Big Sky Drive-In) and the Tru Vu Drive-In. The latter remains one of Colorado's oldest and longest-running outdoor theatres.

Delta, Colorado's Tru Vu Drive-In opened in 1955 just across Highway 92 from the Skylite Drive-In, which opened in 1949 (behind where the Delta Walmart is today). HighCountryShopper.com says the Tru Vu opened with a much larger screen and quickly became the town's most popular drive-in theatre.

2025 Tru Vu Season

According to the Tru Vu website, movies begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. You can check the Tru Vu website for the movie schedule (TruVuDelta.com) or follow them on Facebook for schedule updates and announcements.

The Tru Vu can hold 300 to 400 cars. There are two bathrooms on site. You can bring your dog, but they ask that it be kept on a leash. Concessions include burgers, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream, candy, and popcorn. The purchase of concessions is the best way to support the Tru Vu, help them grow, and add amenities to the theatre.
