Colorado finds itself ranked near the top for jobs in the U.S.

According to Wallethub, Colorado ranked third amongst all states for job opportunities in the United States. The numbers were arrived at by looking at specific factors related to job opportunities as well as the local economy, and other factors such as commute time.

The unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since 1969 and knowing where to find jobs becomes an important step in determining your future.

Within the state, the best cities to find work aren't surprising. Colorado Springs ranks near the top at number 5, Denver ranked 13th and Aurora made the top 50 at number 48.

The methods used to determine the rankings include opportunities, starting salary, long-term prospects and more. The cities were ranked by the number of opportunities, growth and average income, among other factors.

No Western Slope cities were named in the top 200.
