Colorado's Best Seller

His 1977 title "The Shining" is probably one of the best-selling books (fiction or non-fiction) set in the state of Colorado. The paperback version of this book has sold millions of copies.

"A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains" is pretty much a collection of letters Bird wrote to stay in touch with friends and family back in England. The travel memoir was so successful that Bird was invited to become a member of the Royal Geographical Society in 1892.
