Colorado State and National Parks honoring veterans this Sunday with free admission.

Sunday, November 11th is Veteran's Day. It's also a free day for any member of the military, past or present, and their families to enjoy any of Colorado’s State and National Parks.

The weekend weather looks good for most of Colorado so if you're a vet, load up the family and head out on an adventure. There's a lot to choose from. Aside from Colorado's 4 magnificent National Parks, there are 41 State Parks. Colorado Parks & Wildlife has a cool interactive map to help you find the perfect park for you and your family. Check it out HERE. Don't have time venture out far this weekend? No worries, the free admission deal applies to our neighboring Colorado National Monument as well.

CPW is proud to thank our veterans and military members by offering free admission to our state parks this Veterans Day,” says Colorado Parks & Wildlife Director Bob Broscheid. “We invite the men and women who serve or have served our country in the armed forces to enjoy our state parks as a small gesture of our appreciation for their service.”

Don't forget to bring your proof of military service to present at the park entrance. Aside from your military ID, there are other forms you can use to get in free. Those include an applicable DD Form, Veterans Affairs health ID card, or a current Colorado Driver’s License or state-issued ID card with the veteran seal on it.

As a veteran, you deserve all the thanks and gratitude a state or country can give. Thank you for your service and enjoy your free park day!
