This is one of the most tragic stories I've heard come out of Colorado in some time. The father and stepmother of an 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy have been charged with his murder, allegedly by way of forced water asphyxiation.

According to the El Paso County Coroner, the boy was given roughly 96 ounces of water in a four hour period with no food, causing him to begin vomiting. He also experienced pain in the lower region of his body because of this and passed away not long after.

The boy was found dead in his bed, with foam in his mouth, and other signs of abuse including numerous bruises and contusions on his arms, legs, and face.

While the boy's parents, Ryan and Tara Sabin were arrested yesterday, the incident is said to have occurred over three months ago on March 11th, 2020.

The father is a Sergeant in the military stationed at Fort Carson Army Base, and it's unclear what the boy's stepmother does for a living.

As I mentioned earlier, this is one of, if not the most tragic story I've ever heard come out of Colorado Springs, if not the entire state. One is reminded of the tragic, and still yet to be solved case of JonBenet Ramsey where a six-year-old girl was tragically murdered in Boulder, Colorado back in 1996.

It is truly heartbreaking to hear stories like this, especially so close to home. My thoughts go out to the boy, his family and loved ones, and everyone affected by this horrible event.
