The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has released preseason polls for the upcoming soccer season.

In women’s soccer, Colorado Mesa University was picked to finish in ninth place, receiving 34 points in the poll. Colorado Mines was picked to finish first, just ahead of second-place Metro State and third-place Regis.

In men’s soccer, Colorado Mesa was picked to finish second, just behind first-place Regis. Colorado Mines was selected for third-place.

Two players from Colorado Mesa’s men’s team also received honors. Senior Micah Conrads was named the preseason goalkeeper of the year, while junior Blake Carlson was named the preseason defensive player of the year. Carlson was also named to the NSCAA All-Region team, the Daktronics All-Region team and an All-RMAC first team.

Colorado Mesa’s women’s soccer team will open its season in Durango September 4 against Midwestern State. The men’s team will open their season at home September 5 against St. Edward’s.
