I know it may sound strange, but I like the Mesa County Landfill because they make things easy on residents. Did you know you can take advantage of Free Hazardous Waste Disposal at the landfill? Did you know the landfill has a Free Reuse area where reusable materials like bricks, wood, and construction scraps are available for nothing? These folks make life easy, and now they are lowering prices.

Price Reductions at Mesa County Landfill
News 11 reported that The Mesa County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution in January voting unanimously to lower a couple of waste disposal fees.
The Price will drop from $42 to $30 per ton for compacted waste, and $51 to $32 for the loose disposal fee. The new prices will begin on February 3rd, 2025.
Prohibited items at Mesa County Landfill
The following items are not permitted at the Mesa County Landfill
Hazardous waste, liquid waste, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, electronic waste, and appliances with coolant, freon, propane, or ammonia. Waste not approved by the regulatory compliance manager or out-of-county waste is permitted at Mesa County Landfill.

The Mesa County Landfill is open Monday through Friday from about 7 a.m. to 4:45 pm.
