Colorado Marijuana Sales Exceed $127 Million In May
For the past 12 months, Colorado has exceeded $100 million in marijuana sales. Each month.
The website The Cannabist has just released some staggering numbers when it comes to marijuana revenue for the state of Colorado. Again, just in the month of May 2017 ALONE that number topped $127 million. To say that is unbelievable is an understatement. To break that down, $35.7 million of that was from medical marijuana and $90 million in recreational sales.
Just in the past 12 months, Colorado pot sales have grossed roughly $1.4 BILLION in sales. That is more than $233 million in fees and taxes for the state of Colorado. And it doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon.
I believe it's time that Mesa County finally takes some action and gets its fair share of this huge, money making, edible pie. We definitely need the money. To check out what the Colorado counties that are participating in marijuana sales are making in taxes and fees last year, click here.
