Colorado Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Multiple Women
A Colorado man is facing numerous charges for allegedly sexually assaulting multiple women.
The man, 32-year-old Joseph Vaneck, is being charged with 18 serious charges including sexual assault, kidnapping, second-degree assault, and menacing.
So far four women have come forward with similar stories, accusing Vaneck of picking them up in his car, driving them to a remote location, and sexually assaulting them.
The initial account happened in the Denver area, where a woman was forced into Vaneck's vehicle, where he then drove her to the foothills west of the city and committed the assault there. Since then, three more women have come forward with their similar stories alleging the attacks also happened in the Denver area back in August, as well as earlier this month.
Vaneck was arrested by police two weeks ago and is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail, where his bond is set at $1 million. His first court date is set for this Thursday, October 1st.
All four of the attacks occurred over the last six months, all in the Denver and Lakewood areas, but police investigating the crimes believe that there may be more victims that have yet to come forward.
Anyone that may have information related to these crimes or similar attacks that prefer to remain anonymous are encouraged to reach out to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at (303) 271-5612 or the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers line at (720) 913-7867.
While it's fortunate that Vaneck was caught and is off the streets, these women's lives will undoubtedly never be the same after being attacked by the man.
