A 14-year-old Colorado boy has been officially charged with, among other crimes, first-degree murder in an incident that happened in Denver last month.

The crime occurred on February 20th, 2021 on West Colfax where a woman was shot and killed while sitting in her 2008 Range Rover SUV at around 10:45 p.m. According to police, there were eight 'bullet defects' found in the Range Rover including at least one of the shots hit 32-year-old Pamela Cabriales in the head, causing her to be rushed to the Denver Health Medical Center hospital in extremely critical condition.

The vehicle was identified by onlookers as a dark, four-door Honda car outside of which the alleged perpetrator was seen firing the shots at Cabriales. The 14-year-old was allegedly accompanied by the driver of the vehicle who has been identified as 18-year-old Neshan Johnson and has also since been arrested and charged.

The vehicle was also identified in a shooting the previous day at a McDonald's restaurant, and Denver police officer Katie Phillips was able to identify the Honda the day following Cabriales' murder, and the two suspects were arrested in connection with the crime shortly thereafter. Reports state that one of the alleged perpetrators was found hiding from police in a shed.

The 14-year-old is being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder with extreme indifference, one count of criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault with extreme indifference, and two counts of the sentencing enhancing charge of being an aggravated juvenile offender.

Johnson, the 18-year-old suspect, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of criminal attempts to commit first-degree murder with extreme indifference, one count of criminal attempts to commit first-degree assault with extreme indifference, and one count of vehicular eluding.
