Is Colorado One of the 25 Least Expensive States to Live In?

It's no secret that the cost of living has gone up. As we move further into the decade, basic essentials are getting more expensive across the country, and there doesn't seem to be an immediate end in sight. Unfortunately, Colorado hasn't been spared.

With prices going up across the board, you may be wondering if there's a relief to be found anywhere. Where can you go in the US to try to get a leg up in this tough economic climate? Well, a new study may have the answers that you're looking for.

Stacker.com put together a list of the least expensive states to live in, citing data from the Council for Community and Economic Research. Through volunteer surveys, they've calculated the cost of living index using the average index for cities in each state, based on current prices of more than 60 goods and services.

The South and Midwest were the least expensive regions in the country, according to this data. You can check the top 25 in the gallery below, so I'll try not to spoil much, but I will say that it was nice to see my old home state of Ohio make the list. Granted, it's probably less expensive there because everyone is broke, but since they've put this list together as a positive, we'll let them have it.
