A new study from WalletHub dug deep to find the happiest Americans in the country.

Take pride and well, be HAPPY because Colorado finished 4th.

The project took into consideration 25 different categories or 'metrics' to determine their results. Three main aspects were looked at:

  • Emotional & Physical Well Being - this involves numerous factors such as life expectancy, suicide rate, heart attacks, depression rate along with Physical and Health Index.
  • Work Environment - things such commute time, hours worked and of course money.
  • Community, Environment and Recreational Activities - population, weather and safety.

Yes, money did come up but, it didn't seem to make as much of a difference as the team from WalletHub originally thought.

Overall, Colorado finished 3rd in Emotional & Physical Well Being, 18th in Work Environment and 8th in the Community, Environment & Recreational Activities. For a total ranking of 4 out of 51.
