Can you believe 2026 is almost here? As December 2025 comes to an end, Colorado is celebrating some of the lowest gas prices seen in a long time. Can you recall the last time gas was below the national average on the Western Slope? Off the top of our heads, neither can we.

AAA reports that Mesa County gas prices are below Colorado’s average and continue to fall. Thanks to an ample supply going into the new year, prices are expected to dip even further heading into January. Mesa County: Cheapest Gas in the Grand Valley

According to Way.com, some of Grand Junction’s lowest gas prices are found at these locations:

Circle K: 1015 N Ave, Grand Junction, CO — $2.94/gal regular Way
Phillips 66: 2896 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO — $2.70/gal regular Way
Conoco: 2998 North Ave, Grand Junction, CO — $2.87/gal regular Way

Diesel in Mesa County runs in the mid-$3s depending on delivery cycles. With local averages already low compared to statewide pricing, small seasonal declines may continue into January 2026.

Delta County: Where to Fill Up Without Breaking the Bank

According to Way.com, gas prices in Delta County are not as low as in Grand Junction. Here are three of the best prices around Delta:

Phillips 66: 1430 US-50, Delta, CO — $3.24/gal regular Way
Shell: 766 Main St, Delta, CO — $3.25/gal regular Way
City Market: 122 Gunnison River Dr, Delta, CO — $3.39/gal regular Way

Diesel options here tend to track above regular unleaded, but overall, Delta remains a good mid-range pump zone. Prices could ease slightly after the holidays if crude markets stay calm.

Montrose County: Best Local Deals

According to Way.com, gas prices in Montrose County are also higher than in Grand Junction. Here are three of the best prices around town to buy gas:

Sinclair: 1103 S Townsend Ave, Montrose, CO — $3.46/gal regular Way
Maverik: 1140 N Townsend Ave, Montrose, CO — $3.48/gal regular Way
City Market: 128 S Townsend Ave, Montrose, CO — $3.49/gal regular Way

Diesel pumps here are usually a bit pricier. Given Montrose County’s steady late-year pricing, experts expect modest movements rather than big drops in early 2026.
