Revealing Colorado’s Devastating Flood with These Jaw-Dropping Numbers

As drier weather begins to move into Colorado's flood-stricken areas, search and rescue crews can begin to make their way into some of the more devastated areas to help stranded residents. The Colorado Office of Emergency Management has released damage assessments from the areas involved.

Total Flooded Miles -- 2,380 Sq. Miles

The areas include are Boulder County with 875 square miles affected, Larimer County with 1,120 square miles and Jefferson County with 385 square miles.

Evacuated Persons -- 11,750

From all 17 counties affected by the Colorado floods, 11,750 people have been evacuated from their homes. At this point, more than 2,100 people and 500 pets have been airlifted out.

Population of Area Shelters -- 528

Area shelters populations grew to 528 over the weekend with 26 shelters open throughout the affected area.

Area Deaths -- 8

The death toll from the floods in Colorado have risen to eight Monday. It's unclear as to how many more fatalities will be reported as waters recede and cleanup operations continue.

People Reported Missing -- 658

Over the weekend 1,253 people were unaccounted for, that number is down to 658. This number is an approximate and can change throughout the week.

Residential Homes -- 17,994 Damaged + 1,502 Destroyed

Colorado Office of Emergency Management is estimating 17,994 residential structures as damaged and 1,502 destroyed.

Bridges -- 30 Destroyed + 20 Damaged

The Colorado Department of Transportation expect these numbers to climb as flood waters recede.

Total Rainfall -- 68+ Inches

Rainfall during the Colorado floods totaled over 68 inches. Here's the numbers broken down by area:

• Aurora -- over 15 inches.
• Golden -- over 11 inches.
• Colorado Springs -- over 11 inches.
• Fort Collins -- over 7 inches.
