Colorado Features Some of the Coolest Rock Formations Around
Colorado, known of course for the Rocky Mountains, sure has some exceptionally beautiful rock formations.
Kissing Camels - Garden of the Gods
Once you get to the Garden of the Gods, head for the largest hogback and look for the hole between the rocks. Once you find it, you'll always know where it is.
Fallen Rock - Colorado National Monument
Right here at home. Named because it looks like a section of it just fell off and stayed put. One of many really cool rock formations on the Monument.
Nokhu Crags - Rocky Mountain National Park
You could spend an entire year in Rocky Mountain National Park and not see everything there is to see. And the Nokhu Crags need to be seen. Just amazing views and, if you're there at night, look up. Truly amazing place.
Independence Monument - Colorado National Monument
It's as if this formation just needed to be on its own. And it is majestic, standing alone, stretching into the sky. My favorite question about this one is; " Did God just want to grow one by itself"?
Wheeler Geologic Area- Rio Grande National Forest
Wow. Honestly, I had never seen anything like this until the day I went there. You really have to pay attention to the time because you could forget yourself here because of everything you will see. Highly Recommended.
