Colorado City Lands On A List of 'Rattiest Cities In The U.S.'

I don't know what is worse, living with rats or cockroaches. Pets and rodents are usually a deal breaker for most tenants renting in the Centennial State. While I've never found rats in any of the buildings I've lived in over the years, pests have been a different story.

As we approach the end of 2023, the staff at Orkin has released their list of cities with the worst rat infestations in America. While Colorado is not the worst place for rats, there is one city that has landed in the top ten. Thankfully, it's not Grand Junction.

Wildlife in Colorado

Colorado is famous for wildlife like Black Bears, Moose, Elk, Mountain Lions, Golden Eagles, and several other creatures that are a beauty to behold in nature. One critter that is not a beauty to behold is rats. Sadly, we may have more of these rodents in Colorado than some of the other animals on this list.

Colorado Lands in the Top Ten

The kings of extermination at Orkin just released the annual list of "rattiest cities in the United States" and in 2023, one Colorado city made the list.

This is one Top Ten list that Colorado does not want to be a part of. Regarding cities with the worst rat infestations, Denver makes the list at #8. Denver landed in the same spot last year, so the problem may not be getting worse but it's not getting any better either.

America's City With The Most Rats

My own hometown of Chicago, Illinois is actually America's worst city for rats. Sadly, this is the 9th year in a row that the 'Windy City' has been named America's worst city for rats. Perhaps it's all the vile politicians planted in that state which attract all these critters kind of like birds of a feather?
