20 Basic Manners Coloradans Say Are Seriously Lacking These Days
The Centennial State enjoys people who are well-mannered. Thankfully, I feel like still encounter plenty of friendly folks on the Western Slope. Do you feel there are parts of Colorado where manners have been completly forgotten?
Earlier in the year, we asked Grand Junction to tell us which city in Colorado had the rudest people. The answer came back with more people naming Aspen, Colorado as the rudest city, more so than any others.
Basic Manners Between People
We asked you which manners people are severely lacking these days. An overwhelming majority of the responses indicate that people really just want human beings to be respectful, civil, and pleasant. Two words that go a long way in this world are, "Please and Thank you". Most people really just want that on a consistent basis.
Basic Manners On The Road
Do you feel people act more rudely in person or on the phone? I think the place people can be the rudest is behind the wheel of their vehicle. Not using a turn signal is something people consider to be rude. Not yielding at a traffic sign, or racing through a yellow light are all behaviors you told us are incredibly annoying. Keep going to see the full list of manners we miss and the behaviors that annoy us the most.
The Importance of Customer Service
Another example brought up multiple times is that shoppers want to be acknowledged when they come to your store. We heard from several people who can't stand when they go into a store and nobody greets them. Sometimes the little things go a long way. Just say, "Hello. Thanks for stopping in today."
