In preparation of a looming strike, City Market is hiring.

As the clock ticks down to a probable strike by the local grocer's labor union, City Market is taking applications for temporary workers. The jobs start at $15 dollars an hour.

A final decision on whether to strike will be voted on during meetings over the next couple of days. Negotiations broke down last week when officials with City Market and King Soopers left the table. Now, it appears a strike is inevitable.

UFCW Local 7 claims that King Soopers and City Market are trying to, "eviscerate the ability of their employees to care for themselves and their families." The union went on to say..."no pay raises over the next three years and decreasing benefits that come with increased costs for health care." King Soopers/City Market denies the claims.
