Are you looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Would you enjoy a Margarita? Are you a cheapskate? So am I. Fortunately, a Grand Junction chain restaurant has a beverage we can afford.

Behold! Your eyes do not deceive you. The Dollarita is back. What is a Dollarita? It's a Margarita that costs a dollar (plus applicable tax).

Each month, Applebee's Grill & Bar unleashes a featured drink of the month. They're usually something a little out of the ordinary. Near as I can tell, one of the most popular is the Dollarita. It's back again for the month of May at participating Applebee's. Is the Grand Junction Applebee's participating? I called to confirm, and yes, they are.

The drink that started it all is back on Applebee's menus for the month of May. The Dollarita, American's favorite $1 marg, first launched in October 2017, caused a whole lot of people to freak the f*ck out—and then complain that the insanely inexpensive drinks weren't strong enough.- Delish.com

I checked Applebee's Facebook page, and feedback varies drastically. Some comment the drinks came with plenty of alcohol, others disagreed. I guess I'll have to do a little "quality control" and find out for myself.

How much "rita" do you get for your "dolla"? According to Delish.com, it is served in a 10-ounce mug with tequila and a classic margarita mix.

I said last month I would try the featured drink for April, the strawberry Margarita. I didn't. To date, I've never tried one of their monthly drinks specials. For that matter, I've never had a drink at Applebee's. On that note, I couldn't tell you the last time I had a mixed drink, period. Perhaps I'm the wrong person to be posting about these drink specials.

The Dollarita is available for the month of May at participating Applebee's. If you get a chance to try one, please send a report. My guess is I'll never get down there.
