A simple act of kindness, by one Grand Junction man has changed his life in ways he could have never imagined. Remember, Johnny?

Johnny 'Thumper' Duckworth is still as humble as ever. Thanks to Crispin Havener at KKCO News, here's an update on Grand Junction's favorite dishwasher.

At Randy's Southside Diner one day, Johnny 'Thumper' Duckworth was simply doing his job. He came across a bag that seemed to have been forgotten by a customer. He then discovered $3,000 in cash inside the bag. The original story is above.

What to do?

Well, he did what I would like to think all of us would do, and that is to turn it in to the proper authorities. That's exactly what he did. Darrell Cox, the money's owner was more than relieved. It was a great Christmas season story.

But, that's not where the story ends. Randy, Johnny's boss, decided to start up a GoFundMe page in order to help reward Thumper for his good deed. Randy simply wanted to raise the equivalent of the money found, $3,000 but the Grand Junction community went far and above that to show their thanks and support. To date, more than $29,000 has been raised.

Although the GoFundMe page has been disabled, if you still want to thank Johnny, or just say 'hi', you can catch him still working at Randy's Southside Diner, the Orchard Mesa location at 2704 US-50 in Grand Junction. But, don't worry, Johnny doesn't have to ride his bike to work anymore. He bought a new truck.
