Are you an artist living in Mesa County? Art work is being sought for the annual juried art show, part of the 2019 Mesa County Libraries Culture Fest.
What exactly is Culture Fest? It's a celebration of Mesa County’s cultural diversity. The art show will be exhibited October 25, 2019, through January 2, 2020, at the Central Library at 443 N. 6th St. in Grand Junction.
Who's eligible to participate? Artists must:
  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Live in Mesa County

What kinds of artwork can you submit?

  • Two-dimensional fine art
  • Photography
  • Computer-generated work

What dimensions can artworks be?

  • Artwork cannot exceed 36 X 48 inches
  • Cannot weigh more than 40 pounds
  • Must be display-ready
  • Must have secure wire hanger

Artists may submit two entries by digital image for consideration.

Please have your entries submitted by 8 p.m. Monday, September. 30, 2019. The juror's notification of accepted works will be made between October 7 and 11.

So, what's in it for you? Besides allowing others the opportunity to enjoy your creative efforts, there is cash to be awarded. The top three places will receive honoraria of $400, $300, and $200.

Entries will be accepted only through the Mesa County Public Libraries website at mesacountylibraries.org. You'll find complete rules, info, and entry forms at the site. The library encourages you to pay close attention to the rules.
What about those of us who aren't artists? There will be an art show reception on Friday, November 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
