BLM Currently Fighting Wildfire North of Grand Junction

Just as we're all ready to kick off the weekend we heard the news that no one wants to hear and that is a wildfire is currently burning north of Grand Junction.

The details were first released by KKCO 11, the fire is near Corcoran Peak and just sparked this afternoon. We will stay on this story to report the latest as we hear more from BLM or local fire crews battling the blaze.

Grand Junction did tie a record high of 98 degrees this afternoon but we are expecting rain showers tonight and tomorrow. The rain should help crews as they fight to put out the fire.
