Beating The Colorado Heat
It gets hot in the summer around here, but that's what happens when you live in the desert. So, how do you stay cool and beat the heat?
I'm glad you asked, because I certainly want to know, so let's explore these together and see how many might actually work.
Choose Cotton
Cotton breathes and allows air to circulate and, even if it's hot air and it's 100 degrees, you will still be a lot cooler than the folks wearing wool.
Get in the pool
If you have a swimming pool, you are halfway there! Nothing like jumping into a nice, cool pool to beat the heat. But if you don't have a pool, maybe you have a friend that does.
Wear looser clothing
Again it comes down to air flow. If you have on tight fitting clothes, your skin doesn't get to breathe as much as it does with loose fitting clothes.
Stay Hydrated
Water, Gatorade, whatever it is you put in your system to stay hydrated, drink more of it. Your body can't sweat to cool you off if it doesn't have the moisture it needs. So no matter what, stay hydrated!
Find some shade
You really will need to get out of the sun a little bit, if for no other reason than to cool off. Having a spray bottle with a little fan can't hurt, either.
So there are a few ways for you to beat the heat this summer. There are a lot more I'm sure, so if the way you beat the heat isn't listed, share it and let's all stay cool this summer!
