The cult following of the McDonald's pork sandwich received bad news, there will be no appearance next month . . .

Normally the item appears annually in October, but instead McDonald's has decided to push its limited release back until late December.

Now, I don't know what all the hub bub's about, I mean it's just like a pulled pork sandwich isn't it?

Apparently after the McRib made its debut in 1981, it was removed from the menu just a few years later in 1985 because it wasn't selling well.

It came back in 1989, but disappeared again in 2005 and since then, it's only offered for a few months a year, at select locations. Which has been a great marketing tool, there's even a website for its fans, called

, so they can find the elusive sandwich.
