Arsonist Arrested For Thursday’s Fire Near Horsetooth Reservoir
A 34-year-old Fort Collins man was arrested on arson accusations Thursday (September 5) for the fire near Horsetooth Reservoir.
According to a Larimer County Sheriff's Office press release, Robert Crookston McGehee was booked on felonies for second-degree arson and criminal mischief.
Deputies arrived on the scene just before 11 a.m. and found smoke on the east ridge of County Road 23. They began searching for the man and located him in the 1200 block of North Country Road 23, where he was taken into custody.
Poudre Fire Authority was called to the area to fight the fire.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. An arrest is merely an accusation of a crime by law enforcement.
