"Coffee With a Cop" is one of the best things to roll through Grand Junction. Ask questions, express concerns, all over a cup of coffee. The next session is coming to Colorado Mesa University in a few weeks, and you should definitely attend.

This program is exactly what it sounds like. Local law enforcement officers meet with the public in an informal setting for the purpose addressing concerns and answering questions. The next session is coming up Thursday, October 3, 2019.

This round will be a little different. Typically, the officers meet with the public at a local restaurant, usually one of the area McDonald's. This time around, the event will be held at the Colorado Mesa University cafeteria. Things will start at 9 a.m. Typically, the officers meet with the public for two or three hours. It's really informal, so no one is really keeping track.

These are my top five reasons why you should attend:

  • No speeches or agendas, just questions, and answers
  • The coffee is always good
  • It's a chance to ask questions in an informal setting
  • It’s an opportunity to discuss matters that don’t necessitate a call or visit to the Police Department
  • It’s a great opportunity to connect with local law enforcement

According to the info at the CMU cafeteria, they will be serving both hot and cold coffee along with doughnuts and pastries. On a side note, I posted some time ago my belief the CMU cafeteria is the best restaurant in Grand Junction. I still go there every other Sunday after performing at a local church. I really look forward to the restaurant.

Here's your chance to ask police those questions which have been on your mind while getting to know your local officers better. "Coffee With a Cop" is the perfect opportunity to keep our neighborhoods safe, be proactive, and work in cooperation with your law enforcement officers.
