5 Reasons to Attend The Mucked Up Desert Challenge

The Mucked Up Desert Challenge comes to the Grand Valley on September 1st at 9am. This obstacle filled 5k Mud Run will put your endurance and your mind to the test, with about 8 different obstacles, a cognitive test and a fire pit finish line. So why attend this event? Here are 5 great reasons:

1. It benefits the Grand junction Fire Department who does so much here in the Grand Valley from fighting fires, saving cats from trees, and supplying kids with bicycle helmets. Its the least you could do to support them.

2. It also benefits those that have lost to Colorado Wildfires. We all saw the devastation that wild fires can cause with the Waldo Fire in Colorado Springs. It also hit home earlier this summer when a wild fire broke out in Debeque Canyon and smothered the Grand Valley with ashes. So lets give back to those that have lost.

3. You know all those CMU Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball and Lacrosse games you have enjoyed so much the last few years. Well, the Mucked Up Desert Challenge also benefits the Colorado Mesa University Athletic Scholarship Fund. These funds are used to give athletes scholarships which is extremely helpful when it comes to recruiting student athletes. So if you would like to continue enjoying NCAA sports here in the Grand Valley, come out to the Mucked Up Desert Challenge.

5. Last but not least, there's no better way to get dirty, and test your endurance and skills than in the Mucked Up Desert Challenge. Located North of the Airport in the Hot Colorado Desert, this course climbs up and down many hills, goes through a mud pond, down a slalom hill, over a Hay stack, through a Gauntlet, up a Tire Hill, through a spiders nest, inside a muddy pipe and over a Fire Pit Finish Line! Plus, there is a obstacle that tests your cognitive skills. What else could test your survival skills like the Mucked Up Desert Challenge?
