For ten years, people have been venturing out, to try and find a treasure that is supposedly worth $2 million. Many have not come back.

In 2010, a man wanted to get people outside and explore the wilderness. So, in his self-published memoir, he included clues which he said lead to a treasure worth about $2 million.

I'm betting that Forrest Fenn's book, 'The Thrill of the Chase,' has sold a lot of copies; most of which are only because of the treasure.

According to the Denver Post, thousands of folks have ventured out in search of that treasure, which is believed to be along the Colorado-Utah border.

On March 17, 2020, two older gentlemen from the Denver area gave it a shot. They apparently rented snowmobiles and headed out, near Dinosaur National Monument. When the two men didn't return, the person that had rented them the snowmobiles notified authorities.

The men's truck was found on March 20, and then the two men were located on Saturday, March 21. The younger of the two men, a 58-year-old from Deer Trail was dead on the scene. The older man, a 65-year-old from Thornton was treated at a hospital and released.

The Denver Post reports that the two men were not properly outfitted for their journey, even though they needed to be rescued in a different attempt in the area, just two weeks prior.

Three other Coloradoans have perished while searching for Fenn's treasure.
