133 BRGR: Western Colorado Must-Stop Burger Destination
You definitely should put 133 BRGR on your Colorado burger bucket list.
Even though they don't know how to spell, the folks at 133 BRGR sure do know how to cook up a good burger. Of course, I'm totally kidding about the spelling issue, but I'm completely serious about their burgers.
Finding 133 BRGR
You'll find 133 BRGR on Highway 133 on the north end of Hotchkiss and when you find it you definitely need to stop and enjoy a delicious lunch. Don't be fooled by how it looks on the outside. I'm giving it four stars.
I'm always up for trying something new, and on a recent road trip, my wife and I were looking for a "local" place to eat. Of course, in Hotchkiss, with a population of less than 1,000 every place is local. You're not going to find anything like McDonald's, Wendy's, or Chick-fil-A. It's not like you have a ton of options in Hotchkiss, but we settled on 133 BRGR.
What You'll Find Inside
We walked into the restaurant to what I would describe as an "old west/barn" kind of motif with a hardwood floor. You walk up to the counter to place your order from the extra-large menu. After you place your order, you just find a place to park yourself until your food is ready.
The menu features a variety of burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, salads, and even stuff for the kiddos like hot dogs, corn dogs, and grilled cheese sandwiches.
The Meal Deal
On this day, we took advantage of their half-pound cheeseburger meal deal which came with a drink and absolutely yummy French fries for $12.45. The burger is huge! And, since we were sharing, they even cut the burger in half for us.
