'Nathan's Famous' is holding a qualifying contest at Coors Field.

Do you love hot dogs? Here's your chance to prove it! The most famous hot eating contest in the world is Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog-Eating Contest! It's kind of a big deal. So big you can catch the action every year on ESPN! A qualifying event to see if you've got the chops to hang with some of the worlds best is coming to Colorado in May.

The regional qualifier takes place on Saturday, May 11th, 5 PM at Coors Field in Denver. It's serious competition with the top finishers, both male and female, winning their way to the finals in Coney Island! You could be in Brooklyn, New York, taking on some of the world's best like Joey Chestnut and Miki Sudo on July 4th. Joey is the current world record holder. He consumed 74 hot dogs and buns at last years 4th of July competition!

Believe it or not, there's a professional eating league. The MLE, or Major League Eating is the organization behind the Coors Field event. To find out more click HERE.

The Denver qualifier signals summer is right around the corner. “The launch of the Nathan’s Famous hot dog-eating contest circuit means that we are on our way toward the most exciting day of the year...” that's according to Phil McCann, Senior Director of Marketing of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs. “We are seeking new talent in Denver to represent our nation on the most patriotic day of the year.”
