Why Is It Taking In-N-Out Burger So Long To Come To Colorado?

News that In 'N Out Burger is coming to Colorado got everyone excited but the really long wait has everyone a little confused.  In December it was announced that we're going to have to wait until late 2020 for locations to open up so we decided to do a little research why it's taking so long.

First of all, according to Business Insider, the company has a strict policy of never using frozen beef. There are no freezers or microwaves on site, so everything they cook is fresh. This means no In-N-Out Burger can be further than 300 miles away from one of the companies distribution facilities. The chain is headquartered in Irvine, California and has now spread into Texas, Oregon Arizona, Nevada, and Utah (and soon Colorado).

Another reason why it's taking so long is they do not offer franchise opportunities. Each of the establishments is owned by the Snyder family who has no intention of ever going public.

So are we happy we're going to have to wait to order a Flying Dutchman or go Animal Style to our heart's delight? No, absolutely not. But at least we can respect the reasons why.
