Whiskey River is Back, and Back to Country!

Following a short hiatus, and a few excursions into other genres, Grand Junction's longstanding Country Music establishment Whiskey River is back, and back to their Country roots.

Whiskey River celebrates their Grand Opening tonight (Friday, August 17th.).  Doors will open at 7:00 with free Line-Dance lessons right off the bat.

What's new at Whiskey River?  Aside from the remodel, the establishment features the new Whiskey River Band.  Nashville musician Mark Ramsey, no stranger to Western Colorado, fronts the trio.  You've seen Mark on the Whiskey River stage before.  That time, however, he was backing Blake Shelton during a tour stop at the venue.  Joining Mark is local music educator and session musician Rob Labig on drums.

The evening will begin with an acoustic set from Mark, followed by the full band starting at 9:00.  Friday night's cover is $3.  Whiskey River owner Theresa Boyd is very proud of the low cover charge, stating "The last time I paid a $3 cover, I was in college."
