Which Western Colorado Drummer is Most Deserving of a Hug?
Being a drummer in a band is one of the most thankless jobs under the sun. "National Hug a Drummer Day" is coming up Thursday, October 10. Which Western Colorado drummer is most deserving of a hug?
Drummers are those guys you kind of see hanging out in the back of the band. They don't typically get the love they deserve. They have to haul more stuff than any other member of the band. Their setup takes five times longer than anyone else in the band. They don't get chicks. It's a hard life being a drummer.
On that note, no pun intended, here's a drummer joke:
How do you tell if the stage is level?
The drummer is drooling from both sides of his mouth.
A couple of years ago we posted about "National Hug a Bassist Day." We asked you to vote for the bass player most deserving of a hug. It blew up, big time! People voted by the thousands. The champion was very touched.
In response to that, we did a poll for International Drum Month. It was taken to a vote, and you responded in a BIG way. When it was all said and done, the local drummer voted most deserving of a hug was ... wait for it ... wait ... the local drummer voted most deserving of a hug was Kris Petross.
I think it's time for another drummer joke:
What's the last thing a drummer says in a band?
"Hey, how about we try one of my songs?"
Okay, that's old news. That was two years ago. It's now time to take it to a vote again. Below you are going to find a list of Western Colorado drummers. I'm putting every drummer I know on there. It's possible, probably even likely, I'll miss someone. If I did, please write their name in. Let's have fun with this. Vote, and then keep voting. Tell your friends. Let Western Colorado drummers know you love them.
Wait ... before we get to the voting, one more drummer joke:
What do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend?
Homeless.
Okay, one more:
What do you say to a drummer in a three-piece suit?
"Will the defendant please rise?"
