We are so fortunate here in Colorado to have a plethora of beer that is made here in our home state. Since moving here I have done a solid job of trying them, it has been difficult as I have also been battling the sickness that has been going around so that has thrown off my taste buds a bit but that doesn't stop me from trying a local beer.

The first beer that I tried upon moving here was at the Ale House here in Grand Junction, I ordered the Agave Wheat Beer. It's an American Pale Wheat beer made by Breckenridge Brewery. I was a fan, not my favorite beer ever but it was a solid choice.

The next local beer I checked out was at Kannah Creek Brewing Company where I drank their Highside Hefeweizen. It's a traditional German-style wheat beer that is made unfiltered. I was a big fan of this one, probably my favorite local beer so far.

When I got off work last Friday my amazing wife had two 6-packs in the refrigerator when I got home. They were both again from the Breckenridge Brewery one being the Avalanche Amber Ale and the other was their Vanilla Porter (she loves porters). I only drank the Amber Ale but again a solid beer with lots of flavors.

The last local beer I have sampled was Good as Golden made by Colorado Native. This beer packed a punch and tasted really good too, better than I expected when I cracked open a can. This is a beer I will buy again and after looking at their website I'm excited to try their Olathe Sweet Corn Lager that is only a seasonal beer.

It's clear that I like more of the wheat beers and more light beers. I'm just not a fan of drinking one beer and getting that full stomach feeling. What Colorado-made beer is your favorite, or what should I make sure to try next?
