VINE is a the Victim Information and Notification Everyday system that helps alert victims of crimes as well as the public to changes in the status of previous offenders.

The reason it is being mentioned is because this system went down earlier in the week.

It is back up and running correctly, but what a great time to educate and remind the public about VINE and what it does. This system alerts users to any changes in status of any suspected offenders.

If you were a victim of a crime wouldn't you sleep better knowing exactly where your offender was? This does not mean only victims are able to access this information. It is open for the general public, as well. All users are anonymous.

Since 2016 there have 958 new users just in Mesa County alone. 612 phone notifications, 382 e mail messages and 149 texts since January 1, 2016. All status updates and changes to area criminal offenders.
