I have heard so much about Palisade peaches. I remember when I first came to Grand Junction and someone was selling peaches on the side of the road and I wanted to stop and get some but my boss said they were not the real ones. Now I understand what he meant.

He told me the best peaches was the Palisade Peaches and said because of the climate here the best peaches are grown here, they are juicy, extra sweet and just downright delicious.

I would never have known about peaches and the importance of knowing what you are looking at. If the skin around the stem is yellow or red, you know the fruit was picked ripe and ready for munching.

I will have to check out the Palisade Peach Festival August 16 through the 19. There will be chef demos, vendors and of course tons of peaches. I would love some peach jam, peach cobbler, peach ice cream, and a peach pie.
