Western Colorado musician, songwriter, and photographer, Jeff Pine, recently performed a John Denver tribute concert for music lovers in Grand Junction, while simultaneously raising $750 for a local music scholarship.

Jeff Pine, along with Hugh Plumleigh on piano and Jerry Colby on percussion, performed to a packed house at Grand Junction's "On Stage at Back Porch Music," on Thursday, December 5th.

In addition to paying tribute to John Denver through song, Jeff Pine also performed on one of Denver's more famous guitars. Pine now owns the very guitar Denver used to record his hit "Some Days Are Diamonds,"  a tune that  peeked at number #10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Charts and #1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks.

Those in attendance were blown away by Pine's powerful tribute to John Denver. Many posted reviews on the concert's event tab on Facebook.

Another enchanting performance by Jeffrey Pine, along with his friends Jerry Colby and Hugh Plumleigh. Such great music from John Denver (gone too soon,) performed with such skill and heart. Loved it.... and, yes, Jeff, you made my cry.... several times!" - Babs

"Another amazing evening with Jeff, Huey and Jerry!!!!!!!! Brought back so many memories of such good music! Can't wait 'til next time!" - Pat Chapman

When the concert was over, proceeds from ticket sales generated $750 to be donated to the Robert "Bob" Grant Memorial Scholarship, an award for music students at Colorado Mesa University.
