Elaborate Gas Station Scam Hits Western Colorado

There are a lot of smart criminals pulling scams in the Grand Valley! This scam is pretty impressive and the Rifle Police Department needs your help finding suspects.

Last weekend, several gas stations between Grand Junction and Rifle were victims of an elaborate scam. Someone would call the gas station and convince the employee that they were with the corporate office and auditing the store and the money in the registers. They were instructed to count the money, place it in a bag and someone would come by to put it up shortly.

The Rifle Police Department needs your help in identifying the suspect in the surveillance photo. If you have any information, please call the dispatch center at 625-8095 and ask to speak with the Rifle PD.
